What it does
The Word Viewer opens .docx files without Microsoft Word. It shows the document with its headings, lists, tables and images, a Headings outline to jump between sections, zoom and Print or save as PDF.
How to use it
- Open a
.docxfile or drop it onto the page. - Use the Headings outline to jump to a section.
- Zoom to read comfortably.
- Print it, or choose Save as PDF in the print dialog.
Good to know
- The viewer shows the content and structure, not Word's exact page layout, so page breaks may fall in different places.
- Headers, footers, comments and tracked changes are not shown.
- Old
.docfiles are not supported; open and save them as.docxfirst.
