What it does
The Quotation Generator creates price quotes and estimates with a Valid until date and a client sign-off line. Send it before the work starts so the client knows the price and can accept it in writing.
How to use it
- Fill in From and Prepared for.
- Set the quote number (it starts with
QUO) and the Valid until date (30 days by default). - Add the work or products as line items, with tax and any discount.
- Edit the Terms: what is included, payment stages and what happens once the quote is accepted.
- Preview, then print or save as PDF and send it.
Example
QUOTATION QUO-2026-021 · Valid until 20 Nov 2026 Kitchen tiling (12 m²) 1 × 840.00 Materials allowance 1 × 360.00 Quoted total: 1,200.00 Accepted by (name & signature): ____________
Good to know
- A quote is usually a fixed price; an estimate is an approximate one. Say which you mean in the terms.
- When the client accepts, turn it into an invoice: Export JSON here, then Import JSON in the Invoice Generator.
- For larger projects with phases and a written overview, use the Proposal Generator.
FAQ
How long should a quote be valid? Thirty days is common. Use a shorter period if your material prices change often.
Is a signed quote a contract? In many places an accepted quote can form a binding agreement. For bigger jobs, use a written contract as well.
