What it does
Current Date & Time shows the exact time now with the date, ISO week number, day of the year and Unix time, plus a world clock for any cities or time zones you add. Your cities are remembered for next time.
How to use it
- The clock at the top shows your local time, updating every second.
- Type into Add a city or time zone… to add London, New York, Tokyo, Karachi or any IANA zone such as
Asia/Dubai. - Switch between 12 h and 24 h.
- Each city shows its local time, date and difference from you.
What the numbers mean
| Item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Week number | ISO 8601 week: weeks start on Monday, and week 1 contains the year's first Thursday |
| Day of year | 1 for 1 January, up to 365 or 366 |
| Unix time | Seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC, as used by computers |
Good to know
- Times come from your device's clock. If it is wrong, so is the display.
- Daylight saving is handled per city, so the difference between two places can change during the year.
- To plan a meeting across zones, use the Time Zone Converter.
FAQ
What week number is it? The page shows today's ISO week. Some countries, such as the US, number weeks differently, starting on Sunday.
Why does Unix time not change with my time zone? It counts seconds in UTC, so it is the same everywhere at a given moment. The Timestamp Converter turns it into a date.
